Good morning. Christmas is nearing, sooner than most realize. My question to anybody who has the consumate answer is: How do we know if a saw is still for sale? If we message somebody about one are they supposed to answer? If sold do they mark it sold? Or do they just ignore your messages? It would be nice to be able to see the items still available without trying to message someone with a saw that has already sold. Thanks in advance for any answer(s) to my questions. |

That is a good question and I think it depends a lot on how the classifieds work in your area and if the person selling is courteous enough to either answer or mark it sold if it is no longer on the market. If a person does not answer right away I would just assume it is no longer on the market and move on to something else. In my area we have an excellent and free classifieds sponsored by a local radio/tv station on their website that I and my wife purchase much of our items from and have had no problems with.

I am sorry. I did not clearly state that I was talking about the classified ads on this site. It seems like they stay on the listing forever, and never are listed as Sold.

Unfortunately, it's up to the person posting the classified to note when an item's been sold. The ads are up for a week, and after that week, the person who posted it gets an e-mail to renew the ad. They have to choose to renew it for the ad to be posted again...so it would be safe to say that if someone continues to renew the ad, the item is probably still available. Best Regards, Bob Duncan Technical Editor

Thanks. But I think the $100 Hawk is sold. I got an e-mail saying it went quick. I appreciate the quick responses. |

Ummm Bob.....I put up an add in September (I think) for acrylic. I've never received an e-mail to renew it (though I would have anyhow). I think at this point they're just permanent. I couldn't find a way to edit the add myself.
