| 'Senior' member - no way! | Hi folks - I really like the new clean look of the site but I have to comment that I don't like the fact that the screen layout isn't flexible as before. I'm so use to seeing the forum spread right across my 22" wide (18"actual width) widescreen monitor that it now looks lost with 4" of margin on either side of this Can this be altered or is this a case of 'What We See Is What We Are Getting'? Other than this point, a real nice job

I guess we will get used to it but I definitely don't like all that extra information column down the side. Seems the old one was smaller and not all the way down. I find it a very big distraction. Diane

| Senior Member | I'm with you guys on the size of the available screen and I really, really, really hate the column on the left side with all the advertising and information, but I'm sure that we will get use to it with time.![]() ![]()

I hope this isn't another way to delete my stuff. Have to agree, not a step forward. Chase

I am never a big fan of "new and improved", or "change" myself. When they announced the changes on here, I was scared this message board would become way to cumbersome for a simple minded guy like me to figure out. Luckily, the message board part doesnt seem to have changed all that much.I havent really poked around all that much on other portions of the site yet, so I'm not sure on that yet. This forum changeover is 1000% better than the switch Wood magazine just did on their site a week ago. I hate their new layout, they even eliminated the scrolling section (even though it wasnt very active, it still was available to scrollers), and their messages now seem to be all crowded in a little portion of the screen, leaving a huge blank space on one side. That is the other forum I used to go to quite often, but now with their switch, I will rarely ever use it. I am so glad Fox Chapel went this route compared to the direction Wood magazine went. It'll take some getting used to for sure, but, it still is THE best site for all of this information, and its free to us! So thank you Fox Chapel. A lot of the stuff on the right side was always there I think, but was much smaller font so it was easily overlooked I think. And the Fox book advertisement switched from the right side to the left didnt it? The messages on here seem to be the same size to me, but I could be wrong .

I totally agree with you Dale. This site is what keeps me informed and interested in the ART of scroll sawing and all the unique and friendly people we have here on this site that Happily share information and patterns for Free. And it all would not be possible without Fox Chapel and all there staff. Michael.......Indy......... |

I agree, having a small strip down the centre of the monitor is pretty off-putting

I agree with everyone as well, I have a wide screen monitor and I prefer to see the pages spread right across the screen. Quote:

I agree - the margins on the edges of the screen should be eliminated or at least significantly reduced.
