I need suggestions as to what would be a good beginners scroll saw. I have looked at Hitachi, Craftman & Skill. what would some of you experienced "Scroller's" recommend. Thanks for your help.

Well I own a Hitachi CW40 and for the money I don't think you can go wrong with it having said this there are much better saws out there so the best advise I can give you is shop around and try any saw you can and buy the best that you can afford as I'm sure as with most of us money is a deturmining factor and welcome aboard let us all know which saw you decide to get and remember that there are some very knowlodageable folks here and are very willingto help with any problem you may comeup against so don't hesatate to ask questions because we all leran from each other here Erssel |

I'll echo Erssel and tell you that my CW40 was a huge upgrade for me and I still think it is the best low/mid-price saw out there. Can't pop $550 for a DeWalt, so the Hawk, Eclipse, etc are truly out of the question. Fro about $170, it has served me well and I don't anticipate any major problems when I break it out here in a few weeks and begin the 2009 cutting season.
