Any time I posted a new thread, got a PM, commented on a thread, etc. I would get an e-mail notification. Not getting e-mails any more. Are you mad at me Bob? I know Mom always liked me best, but I want my notifications. Find some other way to take your revenge. I know, take it out on the AussieDude and let me continue to receive my notifications. LOL Chase

Bob, I have it turned off. Maybe its a Mac thing. BTW on the mac they call it "junk mail". Same thing. Did you make any server changes? Chase

Chase, Plaquerd, In a way it is a conspiracy against you too bad we're not the ones behind it because that would be easy to fix. It looks like Comcast started blocking mail being sent from our server sometime on the 23rd. This is at a server level so its not like they even receive the mail and filter it for you, they block it before they even receive it. I've requested that they remove the blocking, but having been in this same situation with Comcast when I worked with an ISP they are usually slow to respond to these requests (they only provide a form on their website for these requests) and often even when they do they re-apply the blocks shortly afterwards. Its a real shame because they have a feedback loop mechansim in which I receive a copy of every message Comcast users mark as spam. While we do get some of these I try to remove any users that actually request to be removed for any emails or any that I get this form of feedback from. This blacklisting though does not look like it takes this feedback loop into consideration as the error page they provide me with ominously sounds like it is based soley on computer filtering technology. (You can read about it here Comcast Help & Support) Comcast does also have a very bad reputation of these sorts of tatics throughout the industry. So we are waiting on them to remove the blocking. I'm personally an unhappy Comcast customer myself at home, having no other real options for high speed access in my area. I have given up trying to use their email system as I have run into this many, many times with all of my own personal projects. I highly suggest using Google's gmail (for free), or even using their google mail for domains (Sign up for Google Apps). With it you can get a number of personalized email addresses of your own choosing for the cost of a domain registration (usually around $10/yr) which is not coupled to your internet connectivity service and is accessible from any browser or email program that has Internet connectivity. --Claudio cl@udio.org (my personal google email address) webmaster@foxchapelpublishing.com |

That is totally unbelievable! I had so many problems sending mail to comcast from my gmail and to set up another email just so I could communicate with 2 friends. It was finally resolved on their end after 2 or 3 months. Chase and Dave, I have a gmail account which works well, (too cheap to buy) it acts as a pop account so I can use my outlook and check on the web while away. Claudio now they know you have money and won't give you a raise lol.

Hi everyone, We also have gmail. Before moving to TN, we had comcast. Nowing that we were moving, I didn't want to keep changing email addresses, so I changed to gmail. It can be used with any ISP. |
