I have noticed that there are a few members that live close to me and that got me thinking. (boy I can allready hear the coments coming on that one.hehehe) I belong to another board for Dodge owners, and they have a section that has a list of states and provinces. If we had that it would make it easier for those of us who want to find each other. A lot of us live a long way from the picnics that we see talked about. I am not suggesting regional clubs but maybe getting together in person for an afternoon or whatever. I do have some idea how busy all the people are that pull all of this site together, so this is an idea for the future if other members are interested. I do not think I have the know how to set this up, but would like to help if possible. Kevin, you are not allowed to kick me out for suggesting more work for you guys.hehehe. One other point, unlike any other site I have looked at this one is an amazing group that spans the world and I wish the world got allong as well as everyone here. Thanks.

Being new here I'm sure I don't carry much weight (except around the waist) but that would be a great idea. I've not noticed anyone yet from SE Georgia or NE Florida. A lot can be gained from the videos and forums on the web but as we've seen in our small WW club (SEGA) there is nothing like getting together with people who know wth they're doing. Even more than one person that "don't" what they are doing helps. Pat

Hey Alan, We had one of those at AFSP. Not sure if we can somehow migrate it here or not, something to check though. It would be a start. BTW, these types of suggestions are more than welcomed (unlike some of the suggestions I've received privately, hehehe).

Hi Y'all, this is kind of what I was wanting to start with my post about " What Neck Of The Woods Are You From". I think that it would be nice if some of us could get together from time to time and share ideas and just enjoy the friendships that we have made here on the forum. I would welcome the chance of meeting anyone of you in person. I also have a summer camp in central WV that is close to several lakes for boating and fishing. Anyone wanting a camping vacation without having to pay high prices at a campground can get in touch with me through pm's or email. It does not look like there are any members that close to me either for a get together. I, myself am unable to travel much distance to make it to the picnics that I have seen in the past but would like the opportunity to meet some of the rest of the members here. Steve BTW, Kevin. it looks like you need to trim your mustache. hehehe

I know this is not a list but there is a map available here you do need flash player 8 to view. I havent done much with it since it seems to update itself. The beauty of this is, you don't need to be included on the list if privacy is an issue. I like the list idea though.

Will regional boards have enough traffic to be worthwhile? How much traffic is there that is region specific? How big are the regions? This is probably determined by the expected topics: I'm in Washington and would be interested in get togethers in surrounding areas, but probably not interested in where to buy things in Vancouver (or Spokane ). I think regional get togethers are a great idea, but could be organized in threads specific to the get together. --Rob Who goes to BC and Oregon significantly more often than Eastern WA Last edited by Arcy; 11-15-2008 at 12:46 AM. G'day all, A regional list would be a great idea, not that it would help me ![]() The easiest way to locate regions, as I see it, is by postcode. (For the English challenged Zip )Perhaps, if it can be done, a column could be added to the membership list to include this. If the list was sortable by this column you could easily find people who live in your area. As Postal areas are pretty large, I don't think this should worry people, who are concerned with their privacy. Just my 2 bobs worth.

Ok. I'm a doof. I was thinking of "regional list" as a separate board ("mail list") for different regions, not as a list of people in each region. --Rob current region: hiding beneath my desk |
