    Joe, you have hit everything I can think of. Can you bypass the variable speed and the on-off switch and go with power direct to the motor? Then include the on-off switch and see what. May not be possible, but it would help narrow it down.

    Hope it works out. I believe I would find a small motor repair shop next if these thoughts don't work.

    Hey Terry; Thx for replly. Checked switch, breaker motor, brushes, etc. good, rheostat, current going thru board, switched on-off with lamp switchand all checks out. Thinking now the circuit board is bad. Any thoughts? Thx

    Hey Terry; This is Joe ( sandyjo) Thanks for your reply in ref to the hitachicw40. Itried the moving, even hitting it a little ( like on a starter) but, nothing. I hope it's not the motor. Any thing else I can try?
