Exuberance can be corrected; dullness is incurable. --E. Deters
"Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

As per custom, I took the dog out ASAP after awakening and then started to troll the news sites when I saw that Soupy Sales had died.
Now for many of us on the board, Soupy was a childhood diversion and good for a few laughs, but I have a different story.
Back in 1976, I was a student at Marshall University studying journalism and had already been working full time for the small town paper where I grew up, so I had a little more experience than the normal "Woodward...

Went outside a few minutes ago and the sun was slowly rising in the east-southeast and the frost crystals clinging to the grass split the light into a thousand little rainbows and it was so quiet you could hear the multi-colored leaves fluttering and hitting the ground.
This is said to be the best week of the year for autumn color here in Indiana, but I won't be making any major journeys to become a "leaf peeper" since there are plenty of spots within five miles that will...

My son recently disassembled his bunk bed, but wanted to keep the drawer section and desk, so that left us with some rather large pieces of particle board (PB) and some PB covered in masonite.
No problem with the long side rails--we'll recycle them into shelves, since he has been wanting new shelving for a while. But the base of the upper bunk was a piece of 1/2" that was 76" X something (twin bed size).
I have been planning a project for the high school library...

I have not written in this blog nearly as frequently as I intended when I started due to vacation and back-to-school, but today I set out with renewed determinitation.
I will get to the vacation in another entry, but today's entry is a way to save a little money and help someone else in the process.
I just posted a thread to the Wood and materials section about finding some materials at the Habitat thrift store: Supplies (Deal!) and wanted to take a few minutes to expand...

Learned my lesson on blogging. I was working on an entry prior to vacation and saved the draft, came back later and thought I had posted it, but found out it was still in electronic purgatory somewhere, somehow. So, I have copied and pasted it below and will conjure up a vacation review in the next few days.
