There is no doubt you love making intarsia. Your work is really good. I like others do not care for the design, but your work in making it is outstanding. Would love to see more of your designs.

Alain -- Excellent work! I admire folks who depart from the available patterns to create something unique. Love your shaping and wood color/grain choices. Thanks for posting in the gallery too.

Alain
Superb! I am all for creating individual patterns (mine are mainly sailing and seasong related). I am not particularly into fantasy stuff, but I have made dragon bookends, a coffin clock and painted skulls for my son. I would say there is a market out there and "youth" with the money to purchase.

Keep at it and Good Luck

This is what makes this craft so much fun. There is so many different projects that can be done in so many different styles.

Default Gandalf the Gray

Gandalf would make a fantastic character in an intarsia piece.

I think your work is exceptional. Fantasy is one of my favorite reading mediums. Overall, however, I would like to see something along this line that was not quite as intmidating. Many people who enjoy fantasy also have young children and I can picture that this might be a bit too much for the very young. I also believe that the subject matter would appeal to a limited target group.

That is just amazing work. Love seeing something different. I showed it to my wife and now she wants one. So if you ever publish the pattern I would interested.
