The wood duck is gorgeous! I'm patiently waiting for the finish to be applied. Then it will be stunning. Ah, your beautiful corgi design! Great wood choices. I soooo wish I had some time to get some of these great patterns of yours made up. I admit I'm getting just a little weary of making small and feathered stuff! Lou

| Hi Janette - that sycamore is definitely wild!!! Absolutely gorgeous grain and your uncanny knack for finding it is something else. Looking forward to both these projects coming to life but especially the duck. Keep inspiring us gal!!!

It's funny, the electric co. guy stopped by the other day inspecting trees near the wires. He said that the sycamores are dying all over town for no reason. I said "cool"!! more wood for me! Had to explain to him that I was a woodworker and loved working with sycamore. We have a guy in town - co. called Urban Lumber and their specialty is reclaiming lumber from downed city trees. I'll have to keep eyes out for more of that sycamore because generally it's hard to find.

Here's a picture of the finished corgi. Still have to shape the duck so that one will be awhile yet. _MG_5579_1.JPG |

That wood duck is amazing. I was out at the lumberyard today begging for quarter sawn sycamore. It was all your fault. Can't wait to see that duck finished. Jan |

As usual Janette your work is super. I always look forward to seeing your choice of wood. Would like to be able to fit and shape half as well as you do.
