Yep, a spindle sander, too. It's not fancy, but I'm going to enjoy the heck out of using it!

Prayers would be most appreciated. Thanks. He's back on strong antibiotics for the infection (it's in his femoral artery )and has appointments with 2 specialists next week. It's been a bad year for him (me, too) and it would be so nice to have him healthy and pain-free again.

Thanks Rhys and Marshall.

I was really happy it turned out this well, considering I've only made the shy frog and the nuthatch intarsia projects. I learned a lot and tried to follow some of the great tips from the masters of the art that share their knowledge with us newbie intarsiacs.

Poor Jim's little toucan is still sitting on the paper, waiting for me to find some wood to glue him onto. Maybe I can do that instead of cleaning the guest room for my Thansgiving company. Sure would be a lot more fun. LOL

Hey Nancy - you get your priorities right eh! It goes without saying that hubby and his health issues are number one. I'm glad though that the intarsia work is giving you a distraction to help ease the worries a little and I'm jealous as hell that you got a spindle sander to help you - well not really, but I have to say something - LOL!.

Hang in there, we are all rooting for you

Jim and Mike,

Thanks for the kind thoughts and prayers for hubby. We are hopeful that the cardiovascular specialist plus the infectious disease specialist will be able to come up with something effective to eradicate both the constant pain and the recurring infection problems. We hope to have some positive action from these doctors this coming week.

Well done Nancy, I might have added a little more contrast in color between the wings and hair but that's all, Charlie would have liked it too

Bruce,

Thank you for posting. Yes, I agree, a bit more contrast between the hair and wings would have been more definitive. (My wood choices were limited at the time.)

I'm learning as I go along. I really enjoyed this project and it challenged me, which is good. I hope Charlie is looking down saying "not too bad for a beginner"
