Hi Folks - well this cute little fellah certainly has an attraction ! Don't say I didn't tell you - everyone just loves a toucan!

@Janette - I've learnt after not taking enough photos of my 'snotty' candle WIP that the only way to do the slide show is to build it in parallel alongside the progress of the project. It also makes me look more closely at the photos and i spot the mistakes sooner - remember your comment in one of the challenges to stand back occasionally and look at things - well I'm learning! And if they look too bad I stand back about 100 yds!!!

@Tony - I did think about that idea but as its been taken by a million Irish pubs around the world I thought i'd give it a miss. And whilst you are not a Guinness guy I'll let you into a secret. I much prefer Murphys or McCaffertys !!!

@Enriqueta - I somehow thought the fish would bite on this one - LOL! Now do tell me one thing. Where do I buy 5" diameter magnets.

Oh silly me! you meant small 'touquies' - ROFLMAO

@Anne - I bet that kitchen looked great. Wonder if the smell of the Guinness had disappeared?

Ok guys I'll be answering private messages later on - including the one from Jerry - Hip Hip Hoorah!

Holy Moly Jim! This is just about the cutest little critter I've seen in a long time. I've been wanting to find a "beginner" type intarsia pattern to try and this just jumped up and said "me me me" lol!

I just love your tutorial presentation too........extremely cool and very entertaining too. Thanks so much for sharing this with us..............my PM has been sent!

Jim,
Great tutorial, but "you-Tou-Can" play. Groan!
Just kidding.

I think I am a tad past beginner but would you mind sending me the pattern? I think he would be ball to make.

Thanks to all the folks who confirmed receipt of the pattern

Sorry I've not had time to reply to each of you.

Good luck with your toucans - and don't forget to post your results!

Cheers!

Holy Moley, but what can happen in a short time around here! SUPER toucan! What a perfect piece for a beginner challenge! Beginners, heck, I'll be sending you a PM very shortly begging for the pattern. It's just adorable and I can't wait to make it. I've only glanced at the tutorial, but it looks just great and well worth a thorough look later. And you have such a gift for humour, Jim, which makes everything in life so much more ... looking for a word ... colourful will do for now!

Thanks soooo much, Jim. This is going to be a lot of fun.

Lou

Hi Jim,

What a great Toucan and the tutorial is the best. You have really outdone yourself. From beginning intarsia just a few months ago to making patterns and teaching intarsia. Way to go. I will send you a PM for a pattern also.

Anyone who's requested the pattern from Jim and would like the Pattern Wizzard version - please let me know, and with Jim's permission - I'll send it to you.

Janette
I don't know about a "Pattern Wizzard" but a "cutting and shaping Wizzard" would be nice to have about right now!!
