Here's the latest batch of magnets I just finished (not counting kitty in the middle - he had to be repaired because of a little sticky fingered snot nosed brat at the last show )New ones include a mini version of JGR's pelican, Garnet hall's orca and Lou's Puffin. I think the goldfinch and nuthatches need to be a little bigger next time - those beaks are a killer! latestmagnets_1_1.jpg |

Hi Janette, Those are just great. By mini version, how much did you reduce the pattern? |

Still have some of my fingernails. the thumb and first finger nails are the ones that go fastest! Mini version means smaller and simplified. I take a regular pattern, take out a lot of the extra pieces by combining them or removing them altogether and shrink the pattern to around 4 or 5" in size. I use a small 1/4" rare earth magnet on the back which is plenty strong. |

Where do you find the magnets Janette? Your magnets look great. Nice of you to not make the kid's parent (?) purchase the broken magnet. T |

Funny you should say that Theresa...I had my head turned and heard something fall. Before I even turned around, I said to the person I'd been talking to (rather loudly ) ..uh oh...I think I just sold something! Turned around. I looked at it and was about to make them buy it but decided I could repair it. Lady didn't even apologize - she dragged kid off and last I saw was giving him a good butt whooping. You can get magnets at Lee Valley. They're the 1/4" rare earth magnets. More you buy, the less they cost. |

Love the magnets! The orca and the blacked headed bird are my favorites.

he had to be repaired because of a little sticky fingered snot nosed brat at the last show ) Hate those kind of kids. Used to have them fiddling with stuff all the time at shows and garage sales. Me, mom and her friend used to pretty good at selling crafts at those sales. Any, I really like your magnets, Janette, can't pick a favorite. Fran |
