Ok I'll try this again. Just posted this...or so I thought! Somewhere it got lost or I deleted it.

Anyhow...Here's my current project called Bath time. This was designed based on a request by one of my customers. Bruce did the majority of work on the design with just a few tweaks by me. It's 24" tall by 36" wide and has about 250 or so pieces. Woods I've used include blue pine, buckeye burl, spalted dogwood and sweet gum, poplar, new zeland honeysuckle, myrtlewood, walnut, maple, aspen, birds eye maple, butternut and probably some I've forgotten. Working on the risers for the elephants now to bring them forward in the piece.

Janette : fine , alot of work on this one !! I wish that I had the time to do this full time , You and Bruce are a good team that work together on different projects , blue pine seems like a new wood on me though . I just never heard of it before , Good work !!!!!!!! Janette your going to laugh , when I read Bath time on this post , I thought about that song call { Rubber ducky } well your probably to young to remember !!! Marshall

That looks great Janette!! What wood did you use for the tree leaves? And will it stay green? I'm still looking for green colored wood here....

The green is poplar. It will darken just like any other wood over time - usually it's so gradual that you don't notice until one day..poof..it's dark!

Argh...shaping drives me nuts!! I'm a chicken so on this one I started from the top and I'm working my way down. Eventually I'll have to do the elephants. So far I've gotten the top almost 1/2 shaped from the fancy grained New Zealand Honeysuckle up (trees, clouds and mtn). Some areas I glued such as the trees, but left them in sections so when finishing time comes, it will be easier to handle the smaller pieces. ...and that gap fairy is already starting up on me !! The little black blobs on the elephants are just their eyes
