Janette,
Your art work is beautiful. My wife and I are pet lovers. I've just started up scrolling again and feel like a beginner but eventually would like to make Intarsia pieces. Do you know of anyone in the Portland area who I could take lessons from in this field?

Well I'm only a couple hours south of you! One of these days I'll get enough time together. Woodcraft has been wanting me to do lessons there. Meanwhile...I taught myself by buying JGR's book with the Dolphin and raccoon. It is very helpful.

Well, this is encouraging! I have two of JGR's book - "Wildlife Intarsia" and "Easy To Make Intarsia" and also bought a few of her patterns. Next year (i.e., after the holidays) I plan to finish two intarsias I've started, than "get serious" by teaching myself ala JGR.

Here is Bruce's site, where I first learned about intarsia. The free e-books have great instructions. http://intarsia.net/
