Hi all Its been a while since I was on the forum, but I am still around I started the Elk a few weeks ago but have been too busy until the last couple of days to do too much to it. The body is all cut out and the shaping and sanding is done. I have still to twig the fit up in a couple of places. I will finish the Elk completely before cutting the foregrond as it will be easier to fit the grass to the Elk rather than the Elk to the grass. So I will put the finish on and glue it up in the next little while. Here is a WIP photo.Ned

HArlan, it goes along with the only stupid question is the unasked question so post away. Ned, glad to have you posting again and the elk looks great. Can't wait to see it finished.

Ned Looks good so far but I would recommend you cut the entire project out first you cut good enough to have everything fit. After it fits the shaping is easy and straight forward. Pete PS Say hi to eva for me |

I totally understand why you're doing the elk first then the background. They never seem to quite fit right doing it all at once in these cases.

Pete..I am afraid I have to disagree with you for once on this one and agree with Janette. I find it much easier to fit pieces to a completed part rather than try to line up and fit too many pieces at one time. Mind you with my new 'light' I am cutting a lot closer to the line and should not have too much problem. With this one the elk will be completed and then the foreground. Ned
