Default Another intarsia attempt

Hello, my name is Kathy and I'm an addict. Got the intarsia bug. Even though I've only done two pieces so far, I'm really enjoying it and know I'll be doing many more. I really enjoy all the WIP threads on this board. Keep 'em coming. Gives me a lot of good information.

So here's my intarsia piece #2. Toucan was the first. Thanks to Anne for posting her take on this bear and then to Jim for posting a link to the pattern. I used walnut, poplar, canarywood, and bubinga. And shortly it will be hanging in my granddaughter's room (just have to get it to Tennessee).

I still need a lot more practice on shaping and finishing but I'm improving (I think).

Now on to the next one.

Kathy

Kathy,
Your bear looks great. The shaping is very very good. You should be extremely proud of yourself.

And I know what you mean by being aditive.
So - what's next?

Well Kathy - I wish my second project had looked so good. Keep up the good work. And stay on this forum - you'll learn so much and want to do so much more. It's fun.

Hi Kathy - I'm sorry to have to confirm that you have become really addicted to Intarsia and as far as I know this 'disease' is uncurable! You'll soon be scratting around the timber yard, old furniture sales and general rubbish heaps like the rest of us looking for the 'special piece of wood' you just know you can use!

You've done a great job with my Teddy Bear pattern and as this was also my second Intarsia piece that puts us on par! Now what's next for you?

Keep posting your pieces and thanks again for giving Teddy a shot
