I finally got back to the shop this weekend!!! I'm really not sure when I was out there last but it felt great!! I wanted to do something simple so I made Henriette's fruity magnets minus the grapes!! I wasn't sure if the pdf size was the size everyone else made, but I shrunk it to about 65% and came up with these: Fruit.jpg The apple is bloodwood, poplar and peruvian walnut apple2.jpg The banana is yellowheart and peruvian walnut banana.jpg The pear is canary wood, poplar and peruvian walnut pear2.jpg I used 1/32 baltic birch for a backer which I actually just cut with scissors. I think I will glue a "strip" magnet on the back. These will be a birthday gift for my mom. My next project will be to get the toucan done for the challenge!! Look out Jim, Cathy's back!!!

Ahhh, I remember when she was a newbie intarsia wanna be. So full of fear, confusion, and self doubt. . . Now look at her, full blown artist with several pieces under her belt and making intarsia refrigerator magnets. Sniff, sniff, it's wonderful when they grow up and take off on their own! ![]() Great job Cathy, they look perfect!

Wonderful job Cathy...and you made them smaller on top of it! The pdf file was showing them at the size I had made them. I am not very good at handling small pieces, it is a little rough on my finger nails! LOL I really like the way you made your fruits! Bravo

Way to go Cathy! These are great. And I learned something new - I didn't know you could get that "skinny" baltic birch! Do you mind me asking where you found it? Great job! Anne

Hi Cathy, Great job and you reduced them. I remember the froggie feet and the problems we had. Now look at those stems! Keep up the good work. |

Looking good Cathy, eager to see your Toucan too. Thanks for the info on BB, I didn't realize it came so thin either. The stuff you learn around here....wow.
