Here's mine, the one on the right is all western red cedar (WRD) all cut from the same board. The left one is pear, cherry, black walnut, poplar and aspen

Here you go - my project made from refined rubbish from south of the border Mexican Mora - chestnut eye part and leaf Mexican Encino (evergreen oak) darker frog head colour and limbs Hard Maple . frog chest and chin April 21 - updated with finish coat - refresh your browser if you can't see this change ...

I've been silently following the thread and from what I've seen they all seem great. Jim, your frog is almost lifelike due to your choice of wood.

Here's my froggie. A great big to Janette for a fun learning experience. I know I'm going to do more Intarsia! It is a challenge, but the enjoyment and end result for me were worth every minute.Leaf is Cherry, Head and Knee - Black Locust, Eyes - Cocobolo, Pupils - Ebony with inlaid Holly for the dots, Toes - Boxwood, Lip - Green Poplar and the Chin and Neck - Holly. |

Finished mine today . We can't all be great artists but some of us try . I sort of themed mine after the Australian Fires . He is a survivor . I wasn't happy with my selection of wood , cedar and pine , so I thought I'd try something different . I used my propane torch to give it a different look . It has a clear varathane finish . I've included a before and after picture .It was a very interesting project . Thanks Janette for the experience. Roger |
