| Segmentation Puppies. Here is a segmentation project the I did last year. A simple piece to cut, its a Judy Gale Roberts plan I think. I just printed 2 copies and reversed one page to give me two puppies from the pattern that was for one.
The basket was one piece of wood and the puppies were from another piece.
The basket is sanded with a drum sander to get the weaving effect. and the lines are burned on. I used Spruce for this and have not used it again because of the strong grain that shows threw, If you look closely you can see how the grain shows.
This is a good seller for me.

| It really is appealing! Doesn't get much cuter. I like the way you did the basket, pretty clever!

| Those are awesome! Making woven baskets look real is NOT easy. You've done a great job giving that illusion. Hats off!! |

| The pattern and detailed instructions are from a book by Judy Gale Roberts. She has several books that have a range of patterns and colour pics to show how she does things. She also has a video on DVD that is a great way to learn the basic steps in Intarsia.
Maybe Janette will put together a DVD on how she does the great work she does. HINT-HINT.

| Beautiful work Alan and another inspiration for me to go after. Hey Janette - without wishing to blow my trumpet take a look at the flash tutorial I've just posted in my thread here
I put this together from still images using a program called Camtasia Studio
For a first attempt it came out well and its something you could also contemplate using your still camera - much less complicated than video editing and whilst not being in the same field as video it still does a useful job in getting your work techniques across.
If you are interested in this approach and need some help please contact me by pm
It would be a real pleasure to assist
Cheers

| Alan,
I like that pattern and what you did with it, nice work!
Grover,
I ask this question periodicaly what do you guys charge for intarsia work to make it worthwhile? My small Penguin (Bruces and Janette's Christmas friend) took me about 5 hours, what would you charge for that. Christmas friend , Penguin - Scroll Saw Woodworking & Crafts Photo Gallery
