That just looks so good. A question though, what size of gap do you find acceptable? I have never seen the work of others and am wondering if I am being to picky.
Also you said you use Print Shop, what version and do you use Vista with it?

well as far as gaps go...they're not really acceptable but they happen! Most are because either the piece shifts or the wood flexes when cut. Because of the shaping they're not really noticible unless I hold them up to the light- then there are all kinds of them. I'm talking pretty small...like 1/32nd or something like that.

I use both a real old version of Print Shop 11 - and also have 22. Don't use Vista - and hope I never have to

Thanks for the reply. No wonder I have been going nuts, I have been trying for the gap to be no more than 1/64th or less. I actually like Vista, I have XP on my laptop and find the Vista to be easier to use for the simple things I do with it. I can follow the pathway on vista where I get lost in xp. But when it comes to finding programs to work with vista is where I crash and burn.
I loaded Corel Draw 8 and Adobe Photshop 6 today and I think they don't work with Vista.
Anyway thanks for the info. Alan.

Interesting you should say that *speaking of work for the dumpster* Hubby and I just got home from the First Friday Art Walk in Eugene - which included the "coveted" Mayor's Art Show...Man oh man...no offence to anyone who got in but this town sure has a strange sense of what is "art". One of the winners in the Art Show was a big piece with twinkies (yes real ones) all over it in various directions. Another was a sparkly one made up of all different kinds of tin foil candy wrappers. I think I'm in the wrong town! Even Kevin's abstract Fractal Art didn't make it in- and upon looking at the ones that did - I'm afraid his is too "normal" as well!

Maybe if the magazine switched to "popular modern art" they could get enough advertising dollars to publish once a month. Jeez thats a sad thought!
When I look at the talent on this site, all brought together by a great magazine I don't understand why companies are not investing add dollars. for example it seems like Grizzly is in every other woodworking magazine.
Whe should start a list of all the people here who have Grizzly tools. Maybe that would get them off the pot.

It's very nice Janette. Fits so good in the flat stage it looked like a marquetry piece. Is the elephant on the left way back missing an ear?

Thumbs up

This is going to be another masterpiece Janette! Awesome work so far. I love the design, especially the foreground scene with the elephants. WoW! How small are the elephants eyes and the water droplets? I am sure I would loose a couple of finger nails trying to sand these!!! Looking forward to admire the final piece.
