Default A new project almost done

My wife saw this pattern from Homer and Carol Bishop called "A Helping Hand ". This is the second design that I have done from them.
I ordered it and just finished the hands, I still have to mount it and put some more finish on it.
It is about 10 inches long and about 1.5 inches thick at the big hand.
I used Aspen and glued it together to get the thickness I needed.
Lots of tiny pieces (fingernails).
I will mount it on a black background or a very dark wood with minimal grain, I don't want to detract from the hands.
Any Ideas?
The first picture is how it will be displayed the second is to give an idea of the different elevations.
Looking at the picture I see a couple of proportions I would change, it is interesting to me that I culd stare at it in real life and not see it where a picture makes things pop.

That is pretty cool. It would make a lovely gift for a new mom. My daughter just had a baby and the photographer took a picture of mom's hand holding the baby's hand and one of his feet resting in the palm of her hand. The pictures were placed side by side in a frame and matted. On the matting was a nice saying and all of this was framed. It was a beautifully sentimental thing for mom and child. I think any new mom would love a gift like the one you made.

Evie, DON'T YOU DARE CRY
Cause you'll start me off.

And real men don't cry

I've seen a couple of photographs and drawings in that style, but that is a very well done piece.
I always feel touched by that illustration

Beautiful Rolf! Nice detail. If you're looking for something dark without a lot of grain - I would suggest Katalox or peruvian walnut. That is a very elegant piece!
