no router ! Keep an eye in those classified. every so often i find them craftsman routers for $20, and I scoop them up. They aren't the greatest quality, but they do work. I use them for certain jobs, like making a cove. I actually dedicate it to that job, I stick in the bit and that's the only job that router does. Heck, for the price, why not!

Make sure you retain some of those oval plaques to use as templates for cutting out perfect ovals on other material and different types of wood when you do get your router. I described how to do this with a router mounted in a table here, but you don't need a full blown router table to do it.

Way better photos there, Jeff. the overall contrast of the piece looks fine there now. I really like what youve done there..

So come on - which animal is next on the agenda? Any moose? LOL

Jeff, I think that the feathers added to the piece. The second photo is much better. Wonderful piece of artwork. Steve

HAHAHAHAH Ian I actually just looked at a moose and thought about it....but I need to find one that has a bigger set of antlers.....I like to do Trophy Size animals, I think they look more appealing.

I have a Mountain Goat, a Elk, a Zebra, and a Pronghorn on the drawing board....so we will see who makes it to the saw first......

I really want to find a huge Moose....I like doing the Big Game stuff

I'm just learning as I have only been scrolling for a little over a month...but I love it already, its super addictive...and now I'm trying to think outside of the box rather then just doing the typical head shots....I found a picture of a zebra with a twist that I think will be neat...should cut it soon.

I also am signing up for Judy Gale Roberts beginner class in Oct. so I'm really excited to start on Intarsia...but doing this segmentation is fun for now, and its great practice for learning my way around the saw.

:P

I taught myself by buying JGR's book (the one with the dolphin and racoon step by step). I first saw it at an arts & crafts show and was really intrigured. I'd never done ANY woodworking before, mainly just photography, painting and drawing.
