Default Making Fiero logos for PFF

Here's one way to get my name out there, so far i've got 5 orders to fill (one almost finished)

http://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum4/HTML/035663.html

Would anyone have any suggestions to add to the thread over on the fiero forum to possibly boost sales and or encourage customers to ask more questions etc. I think i've given enough variety as far as the woods are concerned...

Also, i'll need some custom design help as far as the text on the patterns are concerned. My photoshop is down and for some reason won't work. Nothing real difficult just some requests people have had if anyones interested in helping me out in that area.

~Tim

Isn't there a potential trademark/copyright problem here?

I'm afraid Ian may be correct. I found a couple websites with Fiero merchandise for sale and on both of them they warn about copyright infringement. They don't mention this logo in particular, but if it were me, I'd be a little cautious. Selling these out of your home is 1 thing, but advertising them on the net for a million people to see, is another. We may be completely wrong too. I did find where GM reregistered the Fiero name a few months ago.

However, I think you have a good product and nice idea.

Good luck.

Don't be sneaking around on companies like GM, Coke, or Harley Davidson...their bite is far worse than their bark !

I have to say that you are not making a killing on these.
I am not sure about the copyright issue. I often think that the automobile manufacturers should pay us royalties for displaying their logos on our cars.
What if someone is drawing a picture of the Fiero for someone, is that a copyright infringement?

I am just stirring the pot, It hasn't been stirred for awhile.

That would be an exellent i dea that i havent thought of yet...

As far as the copyright stuff is concerned, theres been one fellow in particular that has been warned about selling product with the fiero logo on it that i know of. The first time around all they can do is send you a cease and desist letter... after that if i keep on selling things with the logo on (that they'll find out about anyhow) they can come after me with lawsuits. I doubt they'll come after me though, i dopn't plan on selling a million of them (or even anywhere near 50 for that matter) and as you've noticed, my financial gain from this is very small for the work it takes to make some of these items...

I will have to toss around the idea about cutting out portraits of fieros... But my biggest issue will be making the portraits into the patterns, Im actually running into some similar problems with the logos... some folks want to customize the text on them and I have the font to edit them... but i don't have the software to...

I dunno if anyone on here would be willing to help me out with patterns or not for these.

I'll need some portrait pattern help (looking into ways of tring to get the fiero communitys intrest) I've made a post on www.fiero.nl (PFF) about cutting out pictures of fieros... I'll need atleast 3 diffrent patterns made (whenever i choose 3 i think will turn out decent.)

If need be, I'd be willing to pay for a good pattern to be made (just let me know up front if you're going to charge me, and how much... if possible)

I'm open to ideas as well if anyone else has any...

don't have photos yet, just scouting for a few pattern designers willing to take on the challenge up ahead at the moment... if i'm really pleased will your pattern making, i'll be back for more if your up to it... I'm all about making the custom stuff.

thanks again for everyones help in my effort to join hobbies in one and make some cash on the side enjoying the 2...
