I also agree that pallets are not exactly free, in the long run. Plus all of the materials that are transported on them, make them a toxic material. Besides that, they are almost always a hardwood, so, you can only use the wood accordingly. I would rather purchase my wood & be sure of the quality. Thanks for posting this thread.
