Default new idea for cutting small pieces

At one time, we will all need to cut small pieces that need to be saved - yesterday was my first day. I have been scrolling for around 6 years now, and this is the first time this need has come up - so I didn't want to make one of the "fancy dodads" I have seen - and couldn't find it anyways...

So, I came up with taking a piece of painters tape, cutting a slit in it for the blade, and putting it over the hole - worked like a charm

That is a good idea. I've used it before as well and it works great. I don't cut a slit in the tape, I just cover the hole in the table and pierce the blade through the tape.

That's my normal "zero clearance" insert.

I don't have to worry where I put it next time.

OK maybe it isn't a new idea, but I never used it and others haven't.
Thanks for posting it.

Yeah, it's a dandy idea and I'm sure to use it if my memory holds. My forgetery works overtime sometimes.
