Default Lesson learned about clock inserts

I purchased a set of three mini inserts from a popular company for a christmas gift. The set contaned a clock, temp and a baro. in a rectanglular shape. I measured the clock and cut the three holes. Now the temp and the baro. fall out of the three holes and the clock is too tight for the three different holes. I can fix all this hmmmmmp.
I just wanted to pass on the lesson that even if there in a set you should measure all of them before cutting your holes.

Mike

It happens to all of us. Remember measure twice cut once. Also a good thing to remember is double check to make sure you grab the right bit I have put them away in the wrong spot and just grab it not thinking about checking it. So I know how that goes.

Mike,
You are not alone mate.
I always drill what I think is the correct sized hole in piece of scrap and check the inserts prior to drilling the Proper holes
Don't ask how I learnt this.

Been there, done that. Some inserts are supposed to have a little rubber like ring that goes around the insert to keep it in the drilled hole. If it is not there the insert will be too small for the hole and will fall out every time. They have to be removed to set the time and sometimes they just fall off or are not installed before shipping. Check with the company to see if they are supposed to be there.
