Hi all - not so much an advertisement just a pleasing comment to pass on.... This weekend I had to rough shape an arc on the end of around 30 palings of 8" x 1" thick pine I need for the walls of a playground activity centre I'm building at the moment. After rough shaping I will clean the arc up with my router using a purpose made jig. UsuallyI'd do this cutting work on my band saw which I find more accurate than using a hand held jigsaw. However, on the first piece my blade broke and I had no spare. Desperate to get the job finished I remembered I had some Flying Dutchman FD-HD #2 blades - described as 'The Blade That Could' for cutting thick and very hard wood - so why not give one a try. Boy was I impressed! The blade whistled through the wood like butter cutting all 30 boards accurately following my penciled curve better than I achieve when using my bandsaw and also left a reasonably clean cut, ideal for the router after treatment. These blades look like railway tracks compared to normal bandsaw blades but I'm sold on them and I'll be using them more in the future for thick timber I can manipulate on my scrollsaw table. I can certainly recommend them to anyone undertaking similar work - Mikes Workshop has come up trumps again!

Nice Jim. A question though. Did you mead to FD-Hd #12 instead of a #2. Or dose th FD-HD line of blades carry a different numbering setup. Ron C.

| 'Senior' member - no way! | Hi Ron - just checked Mike's web page and that number is correct. There is only one blade size in this particularly series See here for further info btw - cut another 2 dozen boards this morning and that original blade is still going strong although now a little duller. Not sure what I'm going to do with a gross of these, they'll last me ages! - LOL!
