After using several different methods, the following is what I use, today, to keep copies of the magazine and the patterns together. Supplies: 3 ring binder Magazine Holders Magazine Holders - Lee Valley Tools Top loading sheet protectors Remove the pattern from the magazine & press the staples back down. Thread the magazine into the holder and put it in the binder. Insert the pattern into the sheet protector. This goes in the binder, behind the magazine. If available, I also print out any patterns available from the site. These, plus the copies madefrom the included pattern sheets go into a 2nd sheet protector, behind the first one. If I remove anything from the binder, it's left open at that position as a gentle (silent) reminder to return it to it's proper place. Small binders and sheet protectors are a good way to organize patterns, from other sources, by type, if you collect numerous patterns. Half inch binder for your cross patterns, for example. Keep the original in one protector and the extra copies in one behind it. Note: I buy clear (not non-glare) sheet protectors from Sam's Club. 200 per box for less than $10. (Best I remember they were $8-$9.) Much less expensive than a box of 25 from an office supply store. Hope this suggestion helps you to keep your patterns organized.

Lee, I keep my magazines the same way....in the 3 ring binders with the magazine holders. You can get the holders for only $3.98 for 12 at Harriet Carter - Distinctive Gift Ideas, As Seen on TV, Unique Gifts and Household Gadgets as opposed to $5.98 at Lee Valley Tools. I just remove the pattern section of the magazine but leave it in the middle of the magazine and slip it and the magazine in the holder. When I want to cut a pattern I just make a copy of the pattern and place everything back in the proper place when I'm done. I also use the sheet protectors from Costco, (western version of Sam' Clubs) for loose patterns.

I tend to store mine in the same manner as Jerry does (and find them the same way too). That is one thing I need to do, organizing my patterns, books and magazines. Someday I will make some of those. They would be a simple project to cut out on the scrollsaw with some heavyweight plastic.

G'day Dale, I had the same idea. I think even 3mm ply or MDF would probably do the job. However for you blokes $4.00 for a Doz. it seems hardly worth it.

G'day John, You're right about that. I tried to do the same. Between trying to get those long straight lines and fusing plastic, it wasn't worth the effort. Especially after learning of Sue's source. With a bulk purchase they're less than $4/pkg.
