Default Sliding Band Saw.

It seems like all my counter space gets used my machinery. With my small bandsaw I came up with a way to save space.
I used good drawer slides fastened to a piece of plywood that the saw bolts on to. Now I can slide it out past the edge of the counter to use and then push it back out of the way.
I was worried about vibration but it seems ok so far. When the saw is all the way out, the support actually sits on the bench and even stops it sliding back. I will add a few pics to show what I am yapping about.

That's a great idea! I can already "see" several ways I can use it. Bench grinder is the first one that comes to mind.

Thanks for sharing both your idea and the pix of same. Much appreciated. With my small shop, I can use every space saving tip that I can get.

I intend to try this on different tools. I thunk that making it so a simple bar clamp that fastens the slider to the workbench might help with some machines, or a simple rubber door stop jammed in the back.

I have to ask....

Seems like you are limited by the size you can use on the saw. It would bump against your back wall. Can you turn the unit side ways?

Great idea though.
Thank you for posting Greatdane2
