Deb, If you are using for personal use there are a lot of teacher sites that offer free clip art. If you plan to use for commercial use you should stick with the public domain sites. Just google free clipart and you will have a plethoria of hits

Here's a couple off the top of my head Deb. Quality clip art with fewer ads PDClipart.org - Public Domain Clip Art The US Fish and Wildlife Service site also has quite a bit of clipart on it but I don't have the web address handy.

Thanks Kevin. And a question. The "Quality clip art" site says everything there is in the public domain and as such has no copyright restrictions. Am I clear that means making or in my case asking someone else (like here) to make a pattern is OK? Thanks again, Pat

Pat, Yep, that's correct. That's the beauty of the public domain. Deb, Personal use refers to only you being able to use it and not sell it whereas commercial use means the image can be used for profit.
