| One more Last one, I think my head is empty now.
When painting small items like the pictured animals, I drill a 1/8" belly button in them. Push a piece of 1/8" rod into hole.
This gives me something to hang onto while painting the underneath and I can plug the whole thing into a wooden block with 1/8" holes in it so that they are free standing.
Class over for today |

| If you don't remember to have a block with holes in it ready, you can also stick the rods into a piece of styrofoam insulation.
(What? "Plan ahead"? That's crazy talk!)

You are way too organised! You must have as much accessory kit as you do construction gear and you appear never to cut corners. I guess you have the workshop to yourself. If I pre-cut dowels and wood to stand them in, my other half would find an alternative use for them before I ever needed them again!
I spray my stuff on chicken wire, but it does involve contortions to get the edges and underneath bits covered, your idea makes much more sense.

| Maybe BobD could open another segment just for tips like this and then we could share our hints and tips. It would have to be tightly moderated to avoid potential problems, but I have to say, of all the boards I frequent, this one appears to have NO problems. Maybe it's because the people here are true craftsmen (women) or trying to become better.
I know my attitude is better on this board than some of the others, because I appreciate the work others do getting their product done and done to their high standards!
I've only been here a few months and have learned VOLUMES from everyone. So, a big thanks for sharing. ![Cheeky Smiley 006[1]](http://www.scrollsawer.com/forum/images/smilies/cheeky-smiley-006[1].gif)

Sue | G'day Sue,
If you saw my shed you wouldn't say ORGANISED
I do have a lot of patterns and jigs that i have made up over the years and I find they are the hardest things to chuck, as I think to myself "I may need that one day".
Then when the day comes, I forget that I have one and make another DUH
As for the other half Tea leafing your jigs, something like this may come in handy LOL |
