Not sure if this of interest here but I use a lot of belts and sleeves of all different sizes and they clog up with sap etc. the solution is to use an earaser. They come in different styles for woodworking and work very well. I will post 2 pics. 1 with a sleeve all gummed up and 1 after cleaning. On my drum sander I use the 4x8" the most and can clean them about 20 times before they are toast. Last edited by greatdane2; 07-11-2008 at 12:46 AM. |

Alan, I also use a belt cleaning stick, it sure saves some cash in the long run.

And I use the bottom of old tennis shoes before throwing them away. They do a good job of cleaning up the belts/sleeves/disks. Tom |

Some womans high heal shoe's are that same substance like a cleaning stick. You know you are really desperate though when you soak the sleave in Medium super glue and roll it in sand from the sandbox! hehe
