Default Fretwork fuzzies.

I went down to Courtney this morning to a woodworking tool shop. He sells mostly lathes and stuff. But he also handels wood burning and carving goodies. Anyway I wanted some more bits to fit my Foredom sander.
He has new sander discs in stock. They are made by 3M Scotch-Brite and called Bristle Brush and come in different grits and sizes.
I bought 4 of the 1" size that came in a pack with mandrels and 2- 2" ones and a mandrel for same. I tried the 400 grit on a fret project that I have got half cut. It did real well getting into tight spots and did no damage.
These come in all different grits and sizes up to 6" I think. If you go to the Foredom web site I think they are listed there. I will add a couple of pictures of them. Each one has 3 discs. I showed the yellow 1" in pieces (by the way I can not spell very good) and 1" grey one hooked up to a hand piece and also a 2" one that uses a 1/4 mandrel shaft size. But the 1" size I put in a Dremell tool and it worked fine on the fret work.
And as an aside I bought them to use with Intarsia and sanding my danedeer. And they work real well wish I had these years ago.

Thanks for posting about that 3M product.

I did some web searching on the product and found a PDF file that explains the grit:

3M Industrial Products Catalog: adhesives, tapes, abrasives and more

When page finishes loading, click on the tab Documentation.
Third PDF file in list: Scotch-Brite® Bristle Disks and Brushes -Brochure
(The file is a 8.6MB PDF file.)

Page 4 has tables listing the grit sizes for the varrious disks for the small diameter disks and bristles.

The Pink and Peach color brushes seem to be "pumice" and "6 micron" which would be super fine polishing in my book.

Thank-you Greatdane2 for letting me learn something today.

Phil
