I just bid on, won and paid for three nice pieces of slab cedar. Two different auctions same seller. Now I get an email stating that due to an emergency he can't send me the items. The 2nd auction he already refunded but today's email states he will refund to me (first auction) as soon as some more money is deposited in his PayPal acct. Any suggestions? Get the refunds and run. Leave a "negative" response on him? I wanted the wood but is fighting even worth it. The sale was under "the-praying-cowgirl" is the name of the store.

Hi, too went down this road with a seller, i still havent got my car manual, and that was two years ago, but his personal problems is no concern to you, you bid, he delivers that the promise of e-bay, but not always true, so yes i would wait a week , call write , wait anthor week then if nuthen , then follow the the e-bay steps, in the long run it will make you look better as you are knowing that you did the right thing. The refund thats up to you tho.

If your going to deal with ebay it is better to do it sooner than later . Their response time can run you out of time . I would get on it right away . I believe ebay has some kind of insurance fund , but I'm not totaly sure .
Good luck . Roger

Best to deal directly with ebay. Hopefully it was a legitimate emergency. What part of the country is he in? Flooding maybe?

I also agree, I feel direct messages through ebay is better than home emails. that way you have a record in ebay with your responses. like Jannett said, maybe there is a good reason. But on the deposit more , into the Paypal. then a refund. mmm did you do that already. you should have a invoice, paid or not paid throuh them. if he is haveing problems like flooding. that could be a pc problem on his side. but then why is he still emailing you. I feel ebay is pretty safe, and so is paypal. but folks do have probleams. I would say. be safe, be nice, and be fast also. keep all email records. and send them to ebay, and paypal. they will help you. at least you wont just give up. that is not good for other sellers, or , buyers. have a voice, with fackts. your friend Evie

I had a problem only once with someone not sending me the item and I dealt through EBay. They gave me the information on the guy, ex:telephone number. I called and he refunded me that day and sent me the stuff also. He apologized so many times that I guess it probably was an honest mistake.
Most people on EBay are straight.

If you paid him with paypal you are protected by their buyer protection & you will get your money back.

I bought a Hegner saw off ebay, it didn't work...I paid by cheque & it took me 6 months to resolve the issue. I had to make a small claim to get my money back...in total about £450 ( $900 ).

I have been using ebay for years and have only ever had one problem. I tend to shop as much on-line as I do in shops. I even bought a boat (unseen) on ebay as well as many of our tools. If you do have a problem they will sort it out for you. Good Luck
