I have a 5 year old "assistant" who lives to pick things up I drop. Nothing like scrolling away, dropping something and you get a quick pickup a smile and "Here Daddy!!!"

I bought some of those packs of inter-locking flooring tile they use at kids play centers, day care and home kids rooms from Sam's club when they first came out. 2/3'rd of my shop floor is made up of those tiles. They run about $12-18 / 8 sq. ft. depending on where you get them here. They're about a half inch thick. I bought some of them later that were all black and am slowing replacing them with the multicolored ones because of the ability to 'find' things better on the colored tiles. The other third of the floor is vinyl flooring so the roll-around tools can be moved around easily. The black ones I now use to keep the dirt and mud from splashing up on my garage doors by placing them in front of the doors on the driveway. (I live in the country so my driveway is all stone and gets pretty dusty at times)

I repeat from another thread, "Doesn't everyone carpet their shop?'
