| Please Help! Help
I just found out my son in law's birthday is 4-13th. Yeah I know that I am not a great in-law,but he married my only child! The shot gun did not work!
But the facts, He is a little bit older than my daughter (11 years) almost my age again lol! But this is my daughter, He has accepted her other 2 children as his own, They have 1 daughter that is 7 months old now. He is a Summerville, SC Police Officer here ( A Corperal) They got married on 8-04-07, If possible I would like to make something special for him.
Any comments or patterns would be GREATLY appreciated!
Since my wife and I seperated I did not have all the dates, I know this is not what was needed here, but I always had her to tell me what was happening!
Best Regards

| It may be that just about anything you cut will be accepted. Very difficult to suggest with the information you posted.
However, may I suggest the following? The Wooden Teddy Bear, Inc.
and search for: South Carolina.
Wooden Teddy Bear has a State "Shield" (item #RWP340) but that has a lot of very fine fret work. Use a pencil to modify the pattern to fit your skill level.
Just keep it simple, easy, with no frills or extras.

| I agree with Phil - he'd like anything you made especially for him. Scroller, LTD is another place with lots of patterns.
It might be a bit ambitious, but you might try designing and then cutting a portrait of the two of them - Andy Deane has a great tutorial. My first attempt at a portrait did take quite a while, but turned out very well.
And best of luck to you with everything, Pep! Sounds like you're doing your best to not let life beat up on you right now.

| 12 yrs old boys like dragons. Trust me, boys love em, and they aren't that difficult to make, especially in fretwork.

| I am coming in a bit late but what about cutting out the Sommerville Police crest. I have not done inlay, so am not sure how difficult this one is, but it looks like it coudl be OK. Paint it when it is cut to match, or put two woods together when cutting and use alternate colors. Hope you can think of something, even if it is small for you to make for your son in law.

| Pep... did you see the wooden handcuffs Trout made for his son when he graduated from the academy? After he made the handcuff, he attached them with a hanger to his son's shield. They aren't that tough to do. I'll send you the pattern if you send me your e-mail.
