Sorry, John, but I'll be in Seattle for a show there at the same time as FolkWorks' show. I'm planning to be there for the November show, though. Teri

Hi John; I'm another one that will be in Kirkland ( Seattle) Wash. for a show at Reasons to Believe. There are actually going to be about 9 of us there working for 3 days. I would love to go to Folkworks some year. I was just talking to Cease last week, and she asked me if they would ever see me out there? Ufortunatly I'm only a 6 1/2 hour drive from Kirkland, but about a 5 hr flight from Chicago. I live about a 3 hr. drive north of Spokane, Wash., just north of the Canadian Border. I would love to get to Folkworks some year, but there is also NO WAY I could ever get there for the Nov. show because that is my busiest time of the year. All I carve is Santas, so you can only imagine where my head is at that time of year!!! I hope you all have a great time in July at the show. I'm actually sending 2 carvings off to Folkworks tommorrow for the show. Good luck. Dave Francis (www.snowcottagecarvings.com) |

Teri,Dave, Callynne, I dropped off my two Santas today. Got a little more information about the doings on July 11th. The gallery is about 18 to 20 miles from my home, so I think i will try to be there. They expect to have many carvers and guest attend. I expect to have fun, meet nice people and learn a lot. I really wanted to meet the people who are sharing their talents on this message board and on picturetrail. Today i viewed the postcard FolkWorks mailed to the Santa collectors, Callynne, you should stand proud. Your Santa pictured on the card is great. Keep up the good work guys and gals. Woody01 |

VERY COOL, Callynne!!! Congrats on the Postcard!! I still haven't sent my July santas yet, but I think they'll be out of here by Friday. Good thing the show doesn't open til the 11th this time :-) Dave, here's what I'm thinking, my friend....if I can meet you all the way in Seattle...then YOU can meet ME in Chicago!! LOL It'll only take a couple days out of your schedule, and besides, we can carve while we're there!! I'm shooting to get there in November (but then again, it's only an hour flight for me). Teri

Thanks John and Teri but....I didn't know I had a Santa on a postcard....which one is it?? I sent out a Santa with an Elf (don't have any pictures back yet of it to share) for the July Show, but it wouldn't have gotten there in time for the postcard. Which ever one it is I'm thrilled, second time this week. When I logged onto the FolkWorks site this week the Santa with the Elf was in the Santa Gallery..YEAH!! I sure do love this carving stuff...bet no one had figured that out yet, huh?! : Callynne

I just went to the Folkworks site and took a look at the Santa Gallery - several of the names/pictures are mixed up (I just let Cease know about that). I haven't seen the postcard yet, either, Callynne, so I don't know which of your santas is there. The guy on the Santa Gallery looks wonderful, though!! Yours too, Nancy - simply charming! Teri
