I just got my site revised/updated...and have put some new Santas up there, too. If you decide to take a stroll through the site, you'll see a guy in the gallery that is marked 'unavailable' - that's because I'm thinking...considering...wondering.........about maybe entering him into an upcoming woodcarving show in the Seattle area. So, I'd especially like to hear comments on that guy - is he good enough? Should I do something else? http:www.teriembrey.com Thanks, Teri

Wow! Go for it, Teri. That's a great Santa and shows-off your skills as a carver and artist. The books are super. My friends have a living room table just like those books. Did you get the idea from one of those tables? Mike

Teri, That is a great santa I love the way you have him sitting on the books your attention to detail is out of this world. I would definatly enter him in any competition I think you have a winner there. Colin |

What can we say..Teri, Big Un and I think you keep getting better and better. We love him and he could take his stand with the best! We also love the Moon Santa. They all are the best. I didn't think you could get any better but your painting is blooming out !

Thanks, everyone :-) Mike, I've never seen one of the tables you're talking about, but I sure wish I had! It took me forEVER to decide how I was going to do those books....then once I decided, I had to think MORE about what to write on them...LOL Well, okay, then....that'll be the guy I enter into the show. <shiver> The idea of competition against 'real' carvers is a frightening thing, but hey...you only go 'round once, right? Teri

'Real Carvers????' If you are not a real carver than something is dreadfully wrong. Those Santas are great, I love the 'Book Santa' It should do hold it's own with anything there. But my favorite is the Moon Santa, the painting is awesome, but it's something about the face and the expression that gets me. Great work

Teri, love the 'update' and the Santas are fantastic! Great thoughts on the books! I think you should definitely enter the carving show, I think you will really enjoy the whole experience! Just keep in mind, although impartial, judges have likes and dislikes just like everyone else and that can't help to influence them. I mean, if the hubby was judging a show and there were carvings of deer and cats in it...well, lets just say the cats would have to be pretty fantastic to win out over the deer! Sorry Nancy and all cat lovers, he just isn't wild about cats! I will be entering a couple pieces (Santas, or course, don't have time to carve anything else right now) in a couple weeks in a 'mixed medium' show that I entered (and didn't win anything in) last year. It really is true, win or lose, I love the whole competing thing, which is weird cause I'm definitely not the competitive type of person...or at least I wasn't before picking up a knife....hmmmm, wonder if that has anything to do with it?!! Anyhow, great Santas, best of luck!! Callynne
