Havent got mine yet either but it always takes longer to get across the boarder to here in the great white north. Dosent suprise me though that Teri has another great article she is a very talented lady. I only wish I had time to go to Reasons to Believe so visit with her and the other twelve master carvers, but unfortunatly I will away carving in British Columbia at that time. After reading Teri&s article I too found a new freedom in my work. Taking artistic license, I carved a bust reminiscent of Picasso&s &blue period&; the large exaggerated eyes showing implied sadness. With the nose placed to the side of the head, the representation of confusion and displacement is overpowering. To be released from the constraints of balance and realism has truly allowed my art to soar. |

Jack, Carving by numbers, are you? I started a Mona Lisa once but slipped while detailing the ear and ended up with a Van Gogh. Too bad too, I almost had that smile down. ![]() Teri, I look forward to reading your article. |

You lovely people are truly insane, but I must say that I do like the new look, Ricardo. Seriously, thanks to all of you for such kind words. Carving, as Arthur suggests, IS a serious art form for those who choose to use it as such....yup, even Santas :-) Thanks to all of you for getting SOMEthing from the article, whatever it may have been :-) Teri
