Default Who is going to FolkWork  July (

Will I get to see any of you at Folk Works this July 9th. I have two Santas completed and one getting painted now. All three are larger than my normal sized carvings. ( 12' vs 8'to 9' )

Hope to meet you there.

Woody,
I plan on making the pilgrimage to Chicago as it stands now. I was talking to Cease and she wanted my to bring the big Santa with me. She was wanting to put it in front of her store wondered if anyone would steal it. Seeing it weighs about 300 lbs I would hardly think so. So unless something really unexpected comes up I will probably go. Great thread though I am interested to see who we might meet there.

Colin,
You are in for a wonderful experience. You will see so many great Santas. Not to many the size you have carved.

I am sure that your will be wheeled inside the store a night and it will safe.

Looking forward to seeing you .

Collin , we are glad to hear you are taking your big Santa to the Gallery. Remember, we told you Cease would be tickled to have it? Wish we could be there to meet you and Woody, but it just won't happen.... Have a geat trip the two of you... Curtis and Charlotte

Hey Woody, I won't be at the July show, but the hubby and I will definitely be at the November one. Hope both you and Colin will be there for that one. I'm so anxious to meet my on line friends in person!!
I sent out two carvings for this show but Cease sold one of them. The one with the husky dog that I put on the Picture Trail site. I'm carving a new Santa now and hope to have it and another one done in time for the show. This is turning into a very busy year!
I hope you all do great at the show and sell everything! Callynne

P.S. Colin, never under estimate the determination of a thief....oh good grief...I'm giving advice to a retired Mountie! : Callynne

I won't be there, but hopefully I get a couple guys finished in time to get them there. I'm planning to show up in November, though.

I posted pictures in the Holiday Album on Picturetrail. They are the three Santas that I delivered to FolkWorks today. They are the largest carvings I have ever done.

I am looking forward to meeting many of you carvers this year either in July or November. When *I walk into FolkWorks, I realize how many GREAT carvers there are.

Keep up the great Work!!!

Woody - all three are just SWELL. How I wish I could see them in person ...... then maybe I could figure out the technique you used for the fur on #1. #3 is, I think, my favorite of this batch, but I am facinated by the fur on #1.
Have a good time and please say Hello to everyone for me.
Thanks for posting the photos.

Woody, great Santas! I really love your faces! Don't doubt a bit you will do great at the show!
I have been so busy, got my three to her in time, didn't think I was going to get the last one finished soon enough! Now I'm trying desperately to get two pieces done in time to enter our local carving show this weekend. I know the one will be done but I sure don't see how the other one will be. Explains my not being on here much the past few weeks and why I'm leaving now! Take care, have a great time at the show!! Callynne
