Default "Head-less" Santa

I carved this little piece during game #2 of world series Sunday nite and painted it last nite. Thought it might interest other carvers who are not comfortable with carving a face/eyes/beard/ etc. but would like to carve an Xmas piece.
Could be used as an ornament or just a little nic-nak piece around holiday time.

Scrap piece of basswood 3'x3'x2'

I'm showing you all 4 sides so it's in my picture trail site so I don't take up extra space in our carvers site. In album titled 'Headless Santa'.

Thanks for viewing and I hope you try one yourself.

Cute idea!! I've made a couple of santas with heads but I may have to do one of those just to step out of my comfort zone as discussed under the general forum.

thanks for the idea,
mikeg

Could it be a Cardinal trying to find his bat?

If it's a Cardinal trying to find his bat he won't know what to do with it when he does find it!! O.K., O.K., I'll go back to my hole now.

Really good idea!

Lay off my birds, they're giving it to Boston as an early Christmas present seeing as how they haven't done anything since about the birth of Christ!
