Wow we are getting some great new talent to the scroller's galleries. I like to thank Bri, Little flower, and Hans for showing us their work. Look forward to seeing more of yours and other new members work. I love checking people's work out and seeing what others are working on.

I urge anyone who comes to read the posts to click on the galleries and enjoy the show. Keep up the good work people.

By the way Bob hurry up with the SPOON because I need a Fork to go with it and we are all getting hungry here. We have the pizza puzzle but we need utensils.

but 1st things 1st, we must keep focused on what is realy important here.

Since Gill now has her copy of issue 19, Bob and all the others at SSW need to be focused on issue 20. We mustn't be late with issue 20.

When Bob and the others have issue 20 on the streets, then he wil be fee to work these other projects.

Yup, Shannon Flowers and I will be there--it's in our backyard, so I'd be remiss to miss it...and I'd probably never hear the end of it <grin>

I think my friends, who are getting married next weekend, will have a much more intense discussion with me if it's not done next week. I will say that the scroll saw cut down my labor time by at least 2/3. I've practiced enough to get a real feel for the lines--in most cases. The instructor I had said to think about it this way--when you first start driving, so white-knuckle the wheel and struggle to keep the car between the yellow lines and the white line. But as you drive more, you get better and better, and start looking ahead of you--so it's easier to stay between the lines. If you look at scrolling the same way, you should know where the line is--knowing where it is makes it much easier to follow the line--if that makes any sense.

If what you mean is that you should be looking at the line ahead of the blade and not at the blade on the line, then I think that's about right. You need to know where you're going, not where you already are.

I just learned another improtant lesson for Scrolling (and carving). Look at the materials list-- I photocopied the pattern for the spoon I was carving at 100%--which made the spoon about 9 inches long. I've had a devil of a time carving it--then I looked at the materials list--it's supposed to be 14 inches long--that means you need to copy the pattern at 160%...ARGH back to the carving bench, sigh. If only I could carve as fast as I scroll!

This spoon is getting to be some project. You know you are going to take on some heat at the picnic for sure. When and if and that is a big IF you get this golden spoon done we want pictures. Pictures BOB Could have went to Walmart and gotten a set of plastic spoons by now. (YOU know we are just kidding right BOB HA HA ) Talk about being born with a wooden spoon in the mouth.
