I have the 2010 buyer's guide for scroll saws and it doesn't list the excaliber II. I'm guessing because it's old. Does any one know what the vibration level is on the excaliber II and if it is a top feed? I found a listing for one being sold at $175.00 and the guy doesn't know much about it because it belonged to his dad. If anyone knows about it could you please get back to me. Thanks Jay |

$175 is an incredible price for an Excalibur... I suppose it may depend on how many hours are on it... But still, for that price........

Hi Jim thanks for replying. I heard excaliber is a good name so if it has low vibration I'll tell the guy I'd like to see it. I will make sure to ask him how many hours are on it also. Thanks again. Jay |

My first good scroll saw was an Excalibur II. Vibration was very low and I would compare it to the EX-21 which I now have. It has a 19" throat and can feed top or bottom. The original blade clamps were just steel plates that held the blade by tightening a screw with an allen wrench. They did sell a clamp upgrade which I bought that held the blade with a thumb screw similar to the current EX-21 but without the flip lever. It is likely a 2 or 3 speed by adjusting the belt on step pullys. I sold mine a few years ago for $200 with the blade clamp upgrade. I would go $150 if it has the blade upgrade. If it does not have the upgrade I would have to think real hard if I wanted it as the original blade clamp was not user friendly. Tom |
