after a long month of distractions(all good ones i can get back in my shop, wife started doing home dialysis so i was in training for 2 weeks learning how to work the machine and assist her, in that time i was practicing for a 20 mile kayak race around presque isle on lake erie, the race was to raise money for the wounded warrior project, i finished 14th out of 18, didi it in 5 hours and 45 minutes, not bad for a one armed out of shape vet. was well worth the effort, all that behind me i have some ideas for some patterns came up with an idea to have theme weeks in my shop, this week is dog week, just finished 6 of sue meys dog key holders, thinking next week will be fish week

It's fun to be away from the shop and still have your mind in the shop isn't it. I remember a few months ago when I was in the hospital, I was drawing all types of patterns....some were good and others were way out there...but I felt like I was doing woodworking anyway..

congrats on finishing the 20 mile kayak race. I probably would have been around 50th out of 18.

Hey, Lefty, CONGRATULATIONS on finishing the race - wow! And also, good on you for learning to help out with the dialysis! So can you upload some photos of your projects? Your idea to do a weekly theme sounds good! I've decided to try to get rid of some of my small scraps, so this has been "butterfly month" for me!
