Hello, I am totally new to scrolling but had been looking at the Dewalt. I just saw on Craigslist a RBI Hawk 216-3 for $200 and a 220-3 for $350. Can anyone tell me if these are good prices for these saws? Thanks Chip |

Chip; I've had a 216 before and it done just fine. New it normally cost $750.00 and 220-3 cost around 1000.00. It would depend on what condition it's in Frenchie

Welcome to the forum, Chip. I currently have a 220-3 on Craigslist for $350. That's sort of the going price. They are excellent saws. Make sure you get an owners manual with the saw. Paul |

I got my 1st Scroll saw back in April and it's a RBI Hawk 220-3 and it cost me $130Aust and came with a step down transformer so it can run on 240V we have here in Australia ,and so far I have not seen another one like it here , but I have spoken to an owner of a woodcraft shop I get my pen turning supplies from and she said I got a bargain for te $130 .. oh yeah it came with about 12 dozen #3 blades ,3 dozen #7 and 3 dozen #12 blades to all are Olson blades .. mine did not come with a manual but the kind folk who now make RBI's emailed me the manual .. Chip I hope you enjoy your new found hobby . *edit* I forgot to mention I found my RBI in the corner of a wharehouse that sells card/scrapbook supplies I had seen it there on two previous visits so I put and offer in and the guy took the $ but only I i could fit it in my lil hatchback so luckily i carry tools in the back and got it appart very easy. the guy told me they used to use the saw to cut sheets of rubber stamps into singles to sell. and as they say the rest is history Last edited by Furkid; 07-24-2012 at 11:54 AM. |
