Yesterday I decided to do something I wanted to do so I cut this guy out. It took about three hours of steady cutting. I felt pretty good when I finished but it is pretty delicate with all those cuts. I gotta get it on a backer before something happens. Hope you like it. |

Not mounted yet. That hired hand I have (my wife) won't trust me with a paint brush so she insists that she does it all. She has something "special" in mind for it. You know, as management, it doesn't pay to argue too much with the help. ha ha ha

Wow very nicely done. Lots of detail there. I printed out a fretwork patter of some fish... but I haven't tried to cut it yet... I am a little intimidated but it. I am all for detail... but some of the detail looks smaller than the drill hole lol.

I just knew someone was going to ask about the pattern; and honestly I don't remember where it came from. It is one I downloaded when I began and thought "someday I'm going to be good enough to cut that". I didn't know much about anything concerning patterns back then, just that I thought it was good. The wife has already said "This one is going on our wall!" Since I'm kind of proud of it I had to agree. Most of what I have been cutting during my "learning period" has been given to friends, neighbors and family. I have cut so much I think they are getting tired of it. Thanks for all the kind comments. bstark- you are right some details in patterns are too small to actually cut. Sometimes they just get a drill hole and sometimes they can be added into another cut nearby. Sometimes they don't really add much to the finished product so they just get ignored. |

cpowell, I like it a lot. I love doing wildlife & Bass. I did a Largemouth like yours, & then painted just the fish, with a wood background. It turned out real nice. Keep up the good work. Thanks for showing us.
