Default Cutting desks

It's the end of school around here and I came up with an idea that I'll share. As a teacher, over the years I have noticed a lot of broken desks out by the dumper at the end of the year and I have tried to come up with an idea to make use of them. A couple of months ago I noticed that the desk top is, I believe, made of MDF so I grabbed a couple to try. They are about 3/4 inch thick and 14x18 or so. I haven't measured and I haven't tried it out yet but I will this summer.

Anyway my point of this post is to say that you might want to check out around local school dumpsters at the end of the year for wrecked desks if you cut MDF. It's also got a nice laminate on the top too.
