Default 1st completed project of 2011

I cut this basket yesterday and got the third coat of shellac on it this morning. The pattern is by Gary MacKay and is from CWWC Jan 2011 p. 42. The inside and outside angle cuts are at 10 degrees. It is about 9" long and 5" wide. The 7/8" piece of oak is sandwiched between two pieces of 1/2" walnut and was cut with a thick wood blade then sanded to 320 grit before finishing.
My wife saw it last night with only one coat of shellac on it and said "Mine!"
And no, there isn't a handle on the right, that's just a space accidently left between the two pieces of cardboard I photographed it against.

As usual, any criticisms or comments are greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the nice comments folks. It is an easy project and only took about 10 minutes to cut. Glue drying and sanding took much longer.

Well George. That is a sharp basket. The finish sure adds to the beauty of the project. Nicely done with no signs of a run.

I really like that one George. I don't have the pattern, but I think I can hand draw that.
