There was a guy from England who used to post here that made miniatures. He hasn't posted in a while but you may be able to find him in the archives or someone may remember who it was. Tom

I used to make alot of doll house furniture. Never had any patterns, I would go to antique stores and take measurments on the pieces that i wanted to reproduce. I also have a book on old country furniture, It gave the measurments. All my wood came from old delapitaded furniture and cut on my table saw. Every thing was made to scale 1"= 1'. So I would say look at A piece in your home take some measurments and try to reproduce to the one inch equals one foot scale. All my furniture has been sold but there are two pieces still at a friends house I will try an get some pics. and post them. Stan

I do a lot of miniature furniture in various scales. Your quickest option is to get one of the doll house furniture pattern books through your local library. Another source to build up your own reference library is to put a search - doll house furniture - into Amazon books or Alibris and see what comes up. Most patterns will be in 1/12 scale [one inch = one foot]. If you scan them you can then re-scale them to what you want. If it is a complicated piece you may have to modify the pattern. See my other post with photo. Magic

I've attached a photo of a piece I've just done for a dollhouse collector. It is a Victorian fretwork set of corner shelves measuring 5 1/4 inches high. This is at 1/12 scale [one inch = one foot]. Scaling down a complex pattern like this meant a slight modification to the original fret design. I also did another version at half this size [1/24th or Half Inch] which took three attempts to get a survivor.

There used to be a magazine named "Nutshell News" that had lots of patterns for various miniature dollhouse projects. You might try e-bay. Also, Welcome to Greenleaf Dollhouses - Home of Affordable Dollhouse Kits has a forum for miniatures/dollhouse crafters. Paul

Thank you Txscroller for this thread, and thank you Sue for that web-site. Love the shelf, Magic. Here is another helpful website, simple furniture but scroll saw work could be added: The Art of Dollhouse Miniatures
