If you're a little unsure of yourself, stick with the Penguins and they will help you learn.

Never had a bad FD blade, just some that seem to have a certain "specialness" to them.

Ditto to all comments. The FD blades are the best I have found and Mike's customer service (and blade knowledge) is without equal.

I haven't tried the Ultra blades yet, so, can't say anything about them. But, I know the FD blades are really great. I think the use of the Silver reverse is like using a "used" blade where you don't want it to be as aggressive. Just a thought. I really haven't tried anything, other than the FD blades, so that's how good they are.

I buy nothing but FD blades. I use the penguin silver blades. You guys remember the old safety slogan that "speed kills". Well in my case speed makes waste. LOL Go MIKE Go....!!!!!!

I have to have something beside fret cut outs to put in the burn bucket! Crank up the speed, put the blade in upside down, loosen the tension a bit, get all liquored up and make some firewood! (Oh yeah, make sure the table is about 2 degrees off square--just to make sure)

Did I miss any "no-nos"?
